Project Engineer (Works Delivery) Manchester

An opening has arisen for a 6 month contract (potentially longer) based in Manchester for a Project Engineer with a buildings background. The aim of this position is to support the project delivery teams, managing the assurance of designs, helping with the production of contract documents and bringing in design reviews for all engineering related activity. The project load can vary, so you could be providing engineering support from platform and depot works, repairing a flat roof in a station to refurbishing a footbridge.

Main Scope of Works

• Complete management of design and construction activities for all related schemes
• Maintain an environmentally safe method to design, commissioning and construction, ensuring all legislation is complied to
• Ensure projects and engineering activities are managed effectively to meet programme requirements and are cost effective, without compromising quality
• Administer and review all contractors and consultants
• Deliver project management advice for all construction related activities
• Organise audits of all contractors to assess safety, quality of design and the environment.

Requirements For The Role

• Strong knowledge of assurance processes
• Heavily involved in the design and construction for buildings and civils
• Risk assessment, environmental awareness, CDM and quality assurance knowledge.
• Strong project management experience
